Design and Technology (DT) Vision Statement
At Packmoor Ormiston Academy, children enjoy participating in a variety of DT lessons. Pupils are taught a range of skills that use creativity and imagination, help pupils design and make products considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. We aim for children to learn how to take risks and be resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens for the future.
SMSC in Design and Technology
- Spiritually – DT supports spiritual development by celebrating personal creativity, reviewing and evaluating end products.
- Morally – By raising questions about the effect of technological change on human life and the world around them.
- Socially – By exploring dilemmas that individuals may face and developing practical solutions to these problems.
- Culturally – Through DT children develop an understanding of cultural difference in design.
