Our Governors

I currently work for Stoke On Trent Council, working alongside communities and partners. I enjoy cooking and spending time with my family. I have a daughter in Key Stage 1. I am a governor as I want to help the academy to be the best it can be and for all children to achieve to the best of their ability and succeed throughout their time at Packmoor.

I have worked in Stoke-On-Trent for four years and I currently have the great privilege of being Principal at Ormiston Horizon Academy. I really enjoy working with young people and developing their aspirations. I am a sports fanatic with a keen interest in rugby and triathlons. Serving the Packmoor community is something that I am passionate about and determined to do it well.

I have been the Principal at Packmoor Ormiston Academy since 2012, prior to that I was a headteacher at another local school in Stoke on Trent. I have worked in Education for over twenty years, predominantly in Stoke, Staffordshire and Cheshire.

I am a CIMA Management Accountant with 20 years' experience, having spent the last 15 in retail.  I am a parent governor and have a lot of experience from a parent's view of the school as I have 2 daughters who have been right through from Nursery to Year 6 and are now at Ormiston Horizon.  I also have 2 sons who are currently at Packmoor in Foundation and KS1.  All of my children have enjoyed their time at Packmoor and I hope to support the school wherever possible.

Information to be uploaded shortly.

I was a Trustee and Vice Chair of a small MAT in Derbyshire for 5 Years with oversight of Primary School Improvement. I was a Director of a Teaching School for 3 years in Derbyshire with a Primary alliance of 28, my focus was Initial Teacher Training, CDP and R&D. I have over 20 years’ experience of working in the education and youth sector, and I believe my direct work with young people and experience of working in a multi-level education system makes me a good candidate for Governor of a small Primary School.

I am a class teacher, science lead and designated teacher for Looked After children at Packmoor.  My career spans several years in different year groups and a variety of schools.   I am a proud grandmother to two girls and love spending time with them when not in school; reading and socialising with friends.

I have been a Teaching assistant at Packmoor for fifteen years, and over this time have worked with most year groups from EYFS to UKS2. Prior to working in education, I was office based, having gained experience in accounts, marketing, and logistics. I have one daughter who attended Packmoor who i am super proud of. Outside of school apart from going on holiday, I enjoy doing anything creative, knitting , sewing etc.

I have eighteen years’ experience as a Primary teacher, four of which were spent at Packmoor Ormiston Academy. Currently, I work as their independent Clerk to the Governors. In addition to this, I work for Cheshire East Council as a Clerk to the Governors within Children’s Services, coordinating the governing boards of seven different CE schools.
