Pupil Premium

At Packmoor Ormiston Academy, we believe that only by having the highest expectations of all learners can the highest possible standards be achieved. We use Pupil Premium to support the learning of a target group of pupils and to close the attainment gap between these and other pupils, enabling all to reach their full potential.

The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) was created to provide funding for three key areas:

  • Raising the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and closing the gap with their peers.
  • Providing funding for CLA (Children Looked After) and previously CLA (PCLA).
  • Supporting pupils with parents in the armed forces.

The government provides Pupil Premium funding for schools in relation to the number of pupils on roll who:

  • Are in receipt of a free school meal
  • Have been in receipt of a free school meals at any point in the last six years
  • Are from a Service family
  • Are in Local Authority care
  • Have been adopted from Local Authority Care
  • Are subject to Special Guardianship arrangements

The rate in 2023/24 is £1455 per pupil.

The Policy and Strategy outlines the amount of funding available, along with the procedures for ensuring the funding is allocated effectively.

The Pupil Premium strategy is reviewed annually.

Performance data for Pupil Premium Pupils is reported annually.
