Our aim is to raise standards through promoting a school ethos that is underpinned by our core values and supports the development of the whole child. As a school community, we believe the ethos of the academy should be built on the core values of Respect, Determination, Teamwork, Self belief and Excellence. Children are at the heart of the academy and they have had a voice in creating our academy values.
Our values are implicit in everything we do. They are addressed directly through activities, such as assemblies, and are embedded within the whole curriculum. Adults model the core values and empower individuals to be effective learners and good citizens. Our values are the basis for the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of the whole child. Pupils are encouraged to be independent learners and are inspired to achieve and excel.
Through the academy values pupils are encouraged to reflect on their behaviour. They are helped to understand that positive behaviour will enhance the quality of their learning. To this end staff promote an environment in which pupil voice has a genuine impact on raising achievement, encourages a sense of mutual responsibility and inclusivity and fosters an ethos of achievement which recognises effort and celebrates success.
The success of our academy values on teaching and learning is not easily measured but is evident in the personal qualities that pupils display and the positive and happy ethos in the academy.
