Accelerated Reader (AR)

We use Accelerated Reader (AR) to help us to develop and monitor reading from Y2 up to Y6.  Children complete a termly reading assessment (Star reader quiz) which gives them a reading range (called a ZPD). Children then visit our well-stocked libraries to choose a suitable book to enjoy. On completion of a book, children can then login to AR (from home or school) to complete a comprehension quiz.  The AR program allows students to be independent in their reading choices; choosing books that interest them but that are carefully matched to their reading abilities.
